Detailed directions : The hike starts at the Hummingbird trailhead, click here for the location. Continue past the green post that marks the trail, and follow it all the way till to the Rocky peak road.
There are multiple switchbacks on this hiking trail that make it less steep. The trail becomes too narrow and steep in some parts and it is very easy to lose the way. If you do not follow the trail the hike becomes more adventurous with some rock climbing and boulder hopping.
The trail gets very steep in some places and can be hard on your knees. If you are a beginner hiker take your time and carry enough water. There is a rivulet in the first half mile of the hike that you have to cross. Follow the orange markings on the trail - like the one shown in the picture below - and the rock to guide you. You get some really good views on the trail with plenty of greenery and vegetation in the early part of the year. Watch out for bicyclists, share the trail with them and know that they have the right of way.
